Dear Stranger,

Maybe all I ever wanted was for you to pick up the phone —to take the initiative and reach out. You never did, and perhaps it was naive to hope for something we both knew wouldn't happen. But I truly wished you would have stepped up as the adult, to prove me wrong. Instead, there was a silence that spoke volumes. And even though you didn't, I will keep that hope alive for myself, knowing that someday, someone will.
